I'm a generalist with a background in project management, partnership development, and team collaboration in both non-profit and for-profit sectors. ****🧭 My true north: Good things happen when I surround myself with smart, kind, interesting humans who are dedicated to making our communities better.

What I Do Really Well

📣 Facilitation

Whether it's a 1,000+ employee AMA with a company CEO or a SWOT analysis for a group of 12 church leaders, I have extensive experience facilitating conversations, in-person events, and too many Zoom meetings to count.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Community-building ****

I create and grow highly engaged teams, both in-person and in remote contexts. By tapping into people's "why do I do what I do?" thought process, I guide people to bring their full selves to their work in order to create the most impact.

🚦 Project Management ****

I have played the lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing out projects in a variety of settings. Responsible for P&L, managing stakeholders, writing summary documents, and reporting out to leadership.

📰 Writing & Research

I have been published in The New York Times, Huffington Post, Medium, a book, and more. I have written reports, briefs, summaries, marketing emails, website content, facilitation guides and other written materials in my time at various organizations.

💸 Philanthropy

Alongside friend and collaborator Katie Sulau, I am co-designing an offline framework for philanthropy in a very online world. We're calling it Paper Route. We encourage and guide people (individuals, groups, and companies) to find ways to intentionally give their time and resources with the very limited amount of time we have on earth.

🤝 Partnership Development

I thrive on building relationships in order to advance an organization's mission. Experience in: identifying potential strategic partners; building rapport; negotiating contracts. Responsible for developing strategies and identifying new ideas for continued success.

✨ What drives me + a few other ways I spend my time.

• The Future: I am wildly interested in the future of end-of-life care. There is so much possibility at the intersection of healthcare, technology, aging populations, spirituality, and caregiving. I'd love to run my own hospice one day, à la the Zen Hospice Project.
• Family: I live in Columbus, Ohio with my wife Phoebe (+ our two dogs and one cat).
• Philanthropy*: I love crowdsourced funding and lead a handful of giving circles as a way to build community while amplifying giving power. *I prefer Justice Funders' definition of this work.
• Quiet: Swimming laps is my portal to the best, most centered version of myself. I'm a "do-er" and love being busy, so I know I must practice ways to slow down and quiet my body/brain.
